Road Reconstruction
and Widening
Full-depth reconstruction, capacity expansion, and arterial widening for regional and municipal roadways across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
Road reconstruction and widening forms the core of the Four Seasons heavy civil capability. The company has delivered major arterial reconstruction and widening contracts for regional governments and municipalities across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area for more than two decades.
Reconstruction work covers complete replacement of the road structure from subgrade up. The scope typically includes existing pavement removal, subgrade rehabilitation, granular base placement, asphalt binder and surface course paving, and full restoration of curbs, sidewalks, and drainage features. Widening work adds capacity to existing roadways through additional travel lanes, turning lanes, or full cross-section expansion.
Four Seasons self-performs the principal trades on these contracts. Excavation, granular placement, asphalt paving, and concrete work are delivered through in-house crews. Company-owned asphalt plants supply paving operations. Two asphalt paving crews with eighteen plus operators support concurrent contracts.
Traffic management on regional and municipal arterials is a defining feature of this work. Book Seven certified traffic control personnel staff every project. Staging is coordinated with the client and the local road authority to maintain access and minimize disruption to commuters, transit operations, and adjacent property.
