Belfountain
Project Overview
The Belfountain contract delivered heritage restoration and preservation work in the village of Belfountain. The project received the 2025 OPWA Historical Restoration and Preservation Award and the 2025 OPWA Project of the Year. Four Seasons completed the work as prime contractor.
Belfountain is a designated heritage village in the Town of Caledon. The contract delivered heritage restoration and preservation work within the village setting, with continuous attention to the existing heritage fabric and the conservation requirements of the project.
Heritage restoration differs from standard streetscape work in several respects. Existing materials, decorative elements, and historic character must be retained or replicated according to the conservation requirements. Finishing quality is highly visible and subject to ongoing review. Specialized site supervision sensitive to heritage requirements is essential throughout the construction period.
The project received two OPWA awards in 2025: the Historical Restoration and Preservation Award and the Project of the Year. Recognition reflected the technical execution of the heritage restoration scope and the sensitivity to the heritage village context.
The contract closed in 2025.
